During spring and summer, we can feel the longing in phone calls and inquiries to finally enjoy nature, the mountains, and the freedom once again. We are aware that in many regions, especially during summer, there is a strong desire for fresh, clean air, untouched flora and fauna, and open spaces to be cherished with loved ones.
Almost having the mountain all to yourself.
We highly recommend these vast open spaces, the ample room in the expansive nature, and the numerous uncrowded hiking trails. Together with our generously designed hotel facilities, where everyone can find enough space to fulfill their holiday desires. In recent years, in addition to the desire for ample room and space, our guests have increasingly appreciated the privileged location here on the mountain, which allows for pleasant temperatures during the day and night, even on hot summer days and weeks.

“Sommerfrische” can be understood as a “summer retreat” or “summer resort”. It refers to a concept where people seek refuge and relaxation in natural and refreshing environments during the summer season.
Our Summer Retreat takes on a whole different meaning up here at the summit, at an altitude of 1,900 meters. While summer arrives in the valley, bringing hot days and uncomfortably humid nights, we up here on the mountain notice how many people, our guests seeking fresh air, come to the higher altitude. They enjoy the well-tempered temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees Celsius during the day and look forward to pleasantly cool nights. It’s beneficial for the circulation, deep sleep, and overall health.
Air conditioning? No, thank you. Many hotels in the valleys advertise investments in air conditioning units. “Poor souls,” we think to ourselves, considering the guests who have to expose themselves to artificially cooled air, which often leads to dry eyes and other discomforts. The altitude here allows us to generously do away with air conditioning units because nature serves as our air conditioning system, providing well-tempered air that simply feels good.
